Mr. Smith is originally from San Diego and has a background in economics and finance. He joined DTA in 2013 and has since assisted in the administration of PACE programs in over 40 counties throughout California. Charles has been responsible for managing prepayment calculations, tracking payments for bond calls, allocating apportionments, and collecting delinquency data and conducting the corresponding analyses. He received his bachelor’s degree in Economics in 2010 from California State University, San Bernardino and his M.S. in Economics, with an emphasis in financial economics, from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in 2013. He’s an ultramarathon runner who has run eight marathons and nine ultramarathons and recently completed the San Diego 100-Mile Endurance Run for the first time. Charles likes the opportunity his job gives him to take complex concepts, math, and numbers and interpret their meanings into layman’s terms for municipalities, property owners, and other interested parties.
